Operators

Andrea (Andy) has been contesting at different levels since the 90s.
He lives in Carpi (Modena sub-urbans) where he works at his own company in the field of Computers and IT services.
Being very busy with family (little son Jack takes a lot of time!) lately his role at IO4T has mainly been a "homework", regarding Contest strategy, results and log analysis, antenna simulation and public relations with others teams or contest personalities.
For this reason, he is the main brain and producer behind the " Modena Contest Meeting" happening, which requires a lot of work and time to have it running fine.
Andrea is both a good SSB and CW operator, with good skills both on running and mults hunting.

Roberto (Robi) is a physiotherapist and lives in Modena.
Robi is a great CW operator, and has been contesting since the 90s. He really is the guy who pushed the others at learning CW, and is also the guy who "pushes" about everything. In fact, he is always on first line when the shack or the roof needs work, improvements, study, or when it's time to teach and motivate the operators.
Due to personal experience and interest, he is one of the RX ANTENNA guru's at IO4T.

Alessio is a Telecommunications Engineer who lives in Modena.
He is in charge for the IQ4AX - IO4T shack technical maintenance and organization, and acts as an interface between the club and the contest team.
He is the designer of several interfaces and technical solutions at the shack.
During contests at IO4T, you can catch him on CW mainly, sometimes on RTTY or digital modes. He worked a lot of SSB contesing during 2000-2008.

Luca was born in 1986 and lives in Zola Predosa (sub-urban area of Bologna). He actually is a student in Energetical Engeneering at Bologna University, Italy.
He knocked our door in 2005, cause he was interested in ham radio but couldn't find any response near his place.
He got his ticket in 2006, and grew up pretty fast among us, learning ham radio techniques from scratch and acquiring contesting experience.
Luca is a very quite guy, ready to listen and to work at whatever the team needs. He works a lot on antenna projects, shack add ons, and RX Antennas fixing and improving.
Now, he can work SSB contest with good results, and is an accurate multiplier. About CW, he is learning very fast since around a year, and is almost ready to join CW contesting as a full featured operator.

Massimo (Max) is a guy who was born and grown up in Rome, untill his work brought him to Modena several years ago.
Even if he has been involved in contesting and shortwave radio activity since he was very young, Max got his ticket in 2006 but has been among us since the first years of activity.
Max loves SSB and RTTY (digital modes in general), and has a good background of contesting and DXing, which makes of him a good operator.
He is also pretty closed to CW, a mode he is learning with good results.
Max have been working hard on the latest years antenna works, and is surely behind the keyboard if you hear IO4T or IQ4AX on RTTY contesting: he is a great operators chaser about contesting on this mode.

Giuseppe (Joe) started his activity in the 80s.
He works in Modena at his own carpentry company, where he builds cabins for the lift's market. Thus, he has available all the needs for tower and mechanical works.
Since he is also very good at mechanical design, all the mechanical fixing or from-scratch modeling we need is actually done at his place.
Joe is a good SSB operator. You can usually find him at the station during sundays, since on saturday he works at his second passion: a cigarettes shop in downtown Modena.

Filippo (Phil) lives in Forli', 150 Km far from IO4T headquarters. He is the most distant member of the team, but have been joining us since 2000.
He is a great CW operator, and even a SSB contester.

Augusto (Gus) is a key figure in the IO4T team. Back in the 90s, IK4XCL and IK4VET used to contest from his shack, giving IO4T some of the first shots on the air.
At that time, IO4T was just operated from his apartment in Modena, with a KT34A and some dipoles.
Gus now lives out of the city, in a nice farm near Modena, where he as upgraded to a tower in the backyards. Due to work and family, he has not been very active with IO4T lately, but sometimes joins and have fun. He is a calm and clever SSB operator.

Federico (Fred) is a guy we met during 2007 while working on some web servers at our club. He works in his family company in the field of aerial work platforms rapair.
Other than a nice person, he is very good at "using hands" and solving problems, both inside the shack and on the roof.
He is also very good with networks and servers: this website is running thanks to his work.

Alessandro is a guy we met in 2007/2008. He grew up and works at his own company in Milan, but lives in Modena.
Alex loves SSB DXing and hounting, thus he is mainly a multiplier-guy on SSB contests.
He officially is the "climber" at IO4T. Every antenna work which requires tower climbing is provided by him. Besides this, he always takes part to antenna constructions.
Have a look to IZ2AMS Home Page.
